Text boxes in Word

Text boxes are often used in Word to separate out a block of content and make it look visually different to the surrounding text, so that it stands out. As we have previous said though, text boxes do not work well with screen readers and should be avoided.

Fortunately, there is a perfectly accessible method of achieving the same visual effect. The following video shows you how to use borders and shading to create a text box effect.
