Checking PowerPoint with Screen Reader

If possible, it is good to check your PowerPoint slides, using a screen reader. This will enable you to identify where you have missed something and still need to make some amendments. You can check using any screen reader. I have produced guidance for using JAWS and Windows Narrator.

JAWS

Please note, there is currently a glitch with JAWS not reading PowerPoint slides correctly. It may read out all images and links before the other content, even when the reading order has been correctly set. If this happens, you would be better to check using Windows Narrator.

The following video will show you how to check with JAWS.

Windows Narrator
