Colour and styles

Themes

If you want a consistent theme across all your spreadsheets, then you should create and save a theme. You can share this with other people in your organisation or family.

Working with themes

Select an existing theme
  1. Alt to go to the ribbon
  2. P to open the Page Layout ribbon
  3. T H to open the Themes menu
  4. / / / to select a theme
  5. Enter

Select an existing colour scheme
  1. Alt to go to the ribbon
  2. P to open the Page Layout ribbon
  3. T C to open the Colours menu
  4. / to select a colour scheme
  5. Enter

  3. [Name of colour scheme]
Select an existing font scheme
  1. Alt to go to the ribbon
  2. P to open the Page Layout ribbon
  3. T F to open the Fonts menu
  4. / to select a font scheme
  5. Enter

  3. [Name of font scheme]
Customise colours
  1. Alt to go to the ribbon
  2. P to open the Page Layout ribbon
  3. T C to open the Colours menu
  4. C to open the Create New Theme Colours pop-up
  5. Type in a name for your colour scheme
  6. Tab x 3 to start amending the theme colours
  7. Enter to open the colour palette
  8. Use the arrow keys to select an existing colour or M to open the Colours pop-up
  9. to open Custom colours
  10. Tab to the fields you want to input
  11. Enter to close the Colour pop-up
  12. Repeat until you have amended all the different colour options
  13. Tab to the Save button

  4. Dictate a name for your colour scheme
  5. Select items to customise, using Say What You See
  6. When you have finished, Save
Customise fonts
  1. Alt to go to the ribbon
  2. P to open the Page Layout ribbon
  3. T F to open the Fonts menu
  4. C to open the Create New Theme Fonts pop-up
  5. Type in a name for your font scheme
  6. Tab x 3 to start amending the Heading Font
  7. to select a font or begin typing its name
  8. Enter to select a font
  9. Tab to Body Font and select the desired font
  10. Tab to the Save button

  6. Dictate the name of the desired font

  8. Dictate the name of the desired font

Save a theme
  1. Alt to go to the ribbon
  2. P to open the Page Layout ribbon
  3. T H to open the Themes menu
  4. A to save current theme
  5. Type in a name for your theme
  6. Enter

  4. Dictate a name for your font scheme
  5. Save

Cell Styles

Once you have set up and selected your theme, it is easy to apply different cell styles.

Cell Styles

Select a cell style
  1. Go to the cell that you want to apply the style to
  2. Alt to go to the ribbon
  3. H to open the Home ribbon
  4. J to open the Cell Styles menu
  5. / / / to select a style
  6. Enter
  1. Home to open the Home ribbon
  2. Cell styles to open the Cell Styles menu
  3. Go down [number] and Go right [number] to move to the desired style
  4. Press enter
Modify a cell style
  1. Go to the cell that you want to apply the style to
  2. Alt to go to the ribbon
  3. H to open the Home ribbon
  4. J to open the Cell Styles menu
  5. / / / to select a style
  6. Shift + F10 to open the right-click menu
  7. to Modify
  8. Enter
  9. Check that Format is in focus and press Enter to open the Format Cells menu
  10. x 2 to open the Font tab
  11. Tab to move between items to edit and then move to OK
  12. Enter to select items and close the pop-up boxes
  1. Home to open the Home ribbon
  2. Cell styles to open the Cell Styles menu
  3. Go down [number] and Go right [number] to move to the desired style
  4. Press shift F10 to open the right-click menu
  5. Modify
  6. Format
  7. Use Say What You See and arrow commands to edit any item
  8. OK to close each pop-up box
