Creating a Graph

Graph creation
Outcome Keyboard Dragon command
Select the data
  1. Go to the top left cell of the table containing your data
  2. Shift + until all columns are selected
  3. Shift + until all rows are selected
  1. Select cell [ref top left] to cell [ref bottom right]
Create a graph
  1. Alt
  2. N
  3. R to open the Insert Chart dialogue
  4. to open All Charts
  5. Tab to move to the different types of charts
  6. / to select a type of chart
  7. Tab to move to the different options for that type of chart
  8. / to select a chart
  9. Enter
  1. Insert
  2. Recommended charts
  3. All charts
  4. [Chart type]
  5. Press tab to move to the different types of charts
  6. Go right [number] to select a chart
  7. OK
Move a graph
  1. Ctrl + Alt + 5 moves focus to the floating layer
  2. Tab moves between floating objects, if there is more than one
  3. / / / to move the image around
  4. Esc to exit the floating layer
  1. Press control alt 5 moves focus to the floating layer
  2. Tab moves between floating objects, if there is more than one
  3. Go up / down / left / right [number between 2 and 20]
Give graph alt text
  1. Esc moves focus from the graph back into the cells
  2. Move to a cell behind the graph
  3. Type a brief description of the graph, including the type of graph and what the data is
  4. Enter
  1. Go to cell [ref], selecting a cell which will be behind the graph
  2. Dictate a brief description of the graph, including the type of graph and what the data is
  3. Press enter

Editing a Graph

Edit the chart title (or other text on graph)
  1. Ctrl + Alt + 5 moves focus to the floating layer
  2. Tab moves between floating objects, if there is more than one
  3. Enter to edit
  4. Type in new title
  5. Esc to come out of edit mode
Use keyboard method until the chart title is selected. Then open the Dragon dictation box and dictate a title.
Add or remove chart elements
  1. Ctrl to open Chart Elements menu
  2. / to move to each element
  3. Space to select / deselect elements
  4. Esc to close Chart Elements menu
  1. Chart design
  2. Add chart element
  3. Say what you see
Edit colours
  1. Ctrl x 2 to open Chart Styles menu
  2. to open Colour options
  3. Tab to move into the colour options
  4. to browse through colour schemes
  5. Enter to select a colour scheme
  6. Esc to close Chart Styles menu
  1. Chart design
  2. Change colours
  3. Go down
  4. Press enter
